Assamese communities worldwide celebrate Bihu in the same gusto as back home. To showcase the events across the world, a Global Rongali Bihu Sanmilan, is being held in Guwahati on May 3, 2009. The event will be attended by a huge audience accompanied by well-known personalities of Assam.

3 satellite TV channels in Guwahati will cover the event. A live webcast of the event is planned which will be available at all Assam related portals: www.assam.org, www.guwahati.com, vendanti.com, etc.

Egypt – through my eyes

Hi. My name is Priyanka Das, daughter of a doctor and an engineer, closer to 17 than 18 years old, and with a brother whose support and agreeability depends largely on cookie bribes. I am of the regular everyday teenager species, with all the hopes and all the aspirations… and some dreams.
