Assamese Reunion 2010

Come one, come all! The Assamese families of Omaha invite your family and you to our fair city for a weekend of fun and frolic over the 4th of July. Come to the home of the Henry Doorly Zoo that boasts the world’s largest indoor jungle, desert and nocturnal exhibit. Enjoy the Joslyn Art Museum, the Durham Western Heritage Museum, Omaha’s Historic Old Market, the Strategic Air and Space museum, Nebraska’s Wildlife Safari Park, and many, many more attractions. Sightseeing tours to some of these will be arranged by the host families. Explore others on your own.
The venue for the meeting is the luxurious Omaha Marriott hotel. Savor mouth-watering meals including authentic Assamese cuisine and an American Bar-B-Cue and picnic at Omaha’s scenic riverside. The cultural program will feature renowned Assamese singer from Assam as well as a Variety Show presented by local talent…come and share your own as well. Contact Dr. Ratul Sarmah, Cultural Secretary of the Cultural Committee if you would like to participate. Games and other recreational activities are being planned by our Youth Group for the kids in your family. And what would an Assamese gathering be without dancing? Share your best moves as you join the traditional Bihu dance each night. Surprise door prizes and a silent auction will be introduced this year.
We look forward to seeing you all at this fantastic annual event.
