Rongali Bihu at El Paso, Texas

Rongali Bihu was celebrated for the first time in El Paso, TX on April 15 last in Tunna Baruah's residence. All the assamese families living in El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM joined the festivities. It was a nice informal gathering of nine assamese staying away from Assam in this border city of United States. As it was the first gathering of all the assamese people staying in this part, it was a nice chit-chat followed by traditional Jalpan and Bihu-bhat. Overall, it was a pleasant gathering and we were very happy to celebrate the Bihu in El Paso. By SantanuGoswami, Texas
