Prom night

Rather than holding the prom at an expensive area hotel, the HS PTA (High School Parent Teacher Association) does all the legwork and makes it a very affordable and entertaining event not just for the graduating seniors, but also for all of the high school students, parents, and the community. They hold the prom at the school gym. The gym is decorated and converted into an elegant looking ballroom by the PTA and students from junior classes. Most of the neighboring high schools hold the prom in expensive hotels and usually all the prom-goers travel in traditional stretch limos. Although many CASH students would arrive in traditional stretched limos, they are encouraged to be creative. However, they are warned not to arrive via helicopters, hot air balloons or any other means for air dropping. If those restrictions are not enforced, some students may arrive by any of those means. They are very creative and have used all kinds of means to attend their proms. In my view over the years I have seen anything you can imagine for a mode of transportation to arrive at the prom. They have used go-carts, horse buggies, even rickshaws not to mention fire-trucks, jitneys etc. Here is a collage of photos taken during the evening of the 2007 Prom. Ronju is on top of the stretched limo with a bike rack on top. It’s only a limited set of photos due to space requirements in Posoowa. Hope you get the idea!
