Popular singer Zubin Garg enthralled the Assamese community of Delh with his popular numbers and a song dedicated to the Tibetan cause here during the Romgali Bihu 2008 celebration. This year, the show also marked the end of the two-and-a-half- month-long diamond jubilee celebrations of Assam Association, Delhi.
Among those present were Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Chief Justice of Delhi High Court M K Sharma and chairman of Ozone Group S C Sehgal.
Zubeen sang an Assamese number "Haanti diya, mukti diya" ("Give us peace, give us freedom") for the Tibetan cause.
Literary contests, music, dance and fashion events, a series of lectures involving eminent persons like journalist-writer Mark Tully, filmmaker Jahnu Baruah and Jammu and Kashmir Governor S K Sinha were held as part of the celebrations.
