Assam Association Gurgaon Celebrates Rongali Bihu

Assam Association Gurgaon celebrated ‘Rongali Bihu’ at Community Hall, Sector-46 in the Millennium city of Gurgaon on 15th of April with a Cultural Evening followed by a sumptuous assamese dinner. The celebration started with lighting of lamps by senior members of the association, Srimati Amala Sharma & Srimati Ratna Nath. The Souvenir named ‘Samannay’, published on the eve of ‘Rongali Bihu’ was inaugurated by Vice President of Assam Association, Delhi, Group Captain Sri Atul Baruah. A chorous ‘Srimoyee oxomir…’, sung by Karabi, Ashalata, Mimun, Smrita & Shilpi started the cultural evening. The highlights of the cultural evening were the melodious songs, sung by renowned Assamese singer Srimati Namita Bhattacharya . The audience indulged in impromptu bihu dances, once the Bihu songs started. Other programmes of the Cultural Evening includes songs, rendered by Srimati Eepsita Hazarika , Sri Robin Kalita, Sri Debojit Das, Sri Hemanta Saikia, Dance on Modern Song by Srimati Geetanjali Bhuyan, Bihu dances by Srimati Pakhi Saikia & Srimati Akankshya Bhuyan, Bihu Group dance by Srimati Smrita Barua, Srimati Shilpi Goswami & Srimati Geetanjali Bhuyan and above all Bihu Hunsori by a group of young assamese employees of Hero Honda. The Vote of Thanks was presented by President of the association Sri Mridul Bhuyan.
