A new website www.abc-forum.org has been launched that will act as a platform for all the Assamese people here in Bangalore to interact, share their views and thoughts with the rest of the Assamese community and also to connect to the Assamese community around the world. The idea to launch such a platform was started by some of the senior members of the fraternity like Mr. Dilip Bharatee, Mr. PC Barua, Dr. Gogoi. This was then shaped at a meeting amongst the younger generation in March 2004 wherein the name Assam Bangalore Coordination Forum (ABC Forum) was decided. The vision of ABC Forum is “To pursue activities that foster friendship and goodwill between the people of Assam and the rest of the World.” The work on the website was started in the first week of August by a group of people (Arnab, Gautam, Khanindra, Swadhin, Ramen, Bijumon, Kaushik and Himangshu) and was well supported by Mr. P.C Barua and Mr. Dilip Bharatee. The site has the most basic features like Classifieds Advertisements, Job Search for Fresher and Experienced, E-learning for the Fresher, Important links to Assam, Member section and List of all the registered members.
