In memory of Ranjan Das - my friend, who died so young!

Ranjan Das, President and CEO Indian Subcontinent of the software giant SAP, passed away at the young age of 42. It is almost impossible to describe in words his multitude of talents and qualities. Apart from being a brilliant individual and a top notch professional, Ranjan was a wonderful human being with firm family values rooted in humility and compassion.

Ranjan Das: Wizard of Corporate Sky

Ranjan Das, Managing Director of SAP INDIA LTD is no more ! He was 42 years old and considered, by many Corporate Gurus, as the ‘Wizard of the Business Management”. His passing away has created a void in the world of international business. The obituary of Ranjan appeared in National and International electronic & print media all over the world including The WALL Street Journal to Economic Times to quote a few. Assam remained mute spectator to this sad incident, perhaps, in agony; no Assamese knew how to react!

A classic dreamer: Ranjan Das

Who was Ranjan Das? If I posed this question today, I would hear a myriad answers. Someone who knew him during his adolescence would say “Ranjan Das was a brilliant boy from Uzanbazar, Guwahati who received full scholarship to do his Bachelor’s at MIT.” Those who first encountered him in the San Francisco Bay area would remember his education at Harvard Business School followed by his meteoric rise up the ranks at SAP, peaking as the CEO of SAP, India. While these are extraordinary milestones in the life of a brilliant man, there is one common thread that ties all of them together.

Soles for Tots

During one of our annual visits to Assam, our young son, felt very distraught when he noticed rickshaw wallas and poor children without any footwear.

Sunil Nath is with us no more!

Dear members of the Assamese community in North America,

It is with a sad heart that I bear the following news - our dearest Sunilda (Nath) of Florida passed away early morning Mon (7th Sept) due to complications from a stroke. With his passing, we have lost a big hearted and elder member of the Assamese community in North America. Those of us who knew him personally will miss him dearly. I saw him and his wife (Abha baideu) only last fall – difficult to believe that he’s no longer with us- really sad news. May his soul rests in eternal peace.
