Worldwide launch of music Video ‘A Tribute to Assamese Music’

A historic Music Video produced by Radio Gupshup 94.3 FM was released on 25th October at Teen Murti Nehru Memorial Auditorium, New Delhi by the Union Environment & Forests Minister Mr. Jairam Ramesh. The event was organized in association with Assam Association, Delhi. This Video encompasses whole gamut of music from Srimanata Sankaradeva to Zubeen, Borgeet to modern songs. The occasion was graced by Mr Prodyut Bordoloi, Industry Minister, Assam, Smt Archana and Sri Khogen Mahanta, members of the Association and a huge representation from the young genre of music lovers from the Universities and colleges of Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion Mr Jairam, to the thunderous applause of the packed auditorium mentioned that he is also an Assamese by temperament. He listens to Assamese music regularly, specially that of Bhupen Hazarika. He was also humorous in commeting that he is not a ‘lahe’, ‘lahe’ Assamese. The later half event was a live performance by Angaraag ‘Papon’ Mahanta, who enthralled the crowd for about an hour.
