Ann Arbor’s HandyLab acquired by medical device firm in $300 million deal

Few years ago our friend Dr. Kalyan Handique established a startup nanotechnology company called Handylab in Ann Arbor , Michigan after completing his doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Chemical engineering from University of Michigan.

I am very happy to give you the good news that it was announced in late October that Handylab was acquired for approximately 300 million dollars by the multi-billion dollar Medical device company Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) of New Jersey.

Mark Tully releases “Troubled Periphery: Crisis of India’s North East”

Legendary BBC journalist Sir Mark Tully, Padma Shri and Padma Bhusan and Knight of the Round Table, launched Subir Bhaumik’s latest book” Troubled Periphery: Crisis of India’s North East” published by Sage at the Calcutta British Council in a ceremony , in which 90 invitees, including top diplomats and Calcutta personalities attended. Despite pouring rain, they all turned up. Former British minister Ian Macartney, US consul-general Beth Payne, UK deputy high commissioner Sanjay Wadhwani, Chinese consul-general Mao Siwei and many other diplomats joined in.
