An All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)-sponsored national seminar on ‘Future Perspective of Higher Technical Education in North East Region’ was held at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra recently under the aegis of Shillong Engineering and Management College, Jorabat, on 20th and 21st January, 2009.
A book release function was held at Assam Bhawan, Mumbai on 22nd February, 2009 to release Rothindranath Goswami’s latest Assamese book “Mumbai – Sagar Simonat Roi”. The book was released by renowned filmmaker Padmashree Jahnu Barua.
Assamese communities worldwide celebrate Bihu in the same gusto as back home. To showcase the events across the world, a Global Rongali Bihu Sanmilan, is being held in Guwahati on May 3, 2009. The event will be attended by a huge audience accompanied by well-known personalities of Assam.
